On August 5, 2008 Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh H. E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian gave an exclusive TV interview to ATN Bangla in the Embassy. Ambassador Zheng replied the journalist's questions concerning Beijing Olympic Games and China-Bangladesh relationship, and expressed China's positions on issues of Tibet, human rights etc. Ambassador Zheng said that to hold the Olympics is Chinese people's century-old dream. Chinese people are going all out to make it a great success and to consolidate the friendship with people from all over the world. As a friendly neighbor, China attaches great importance to the traditional friendship with Bangladesh and hopes to strengthen bilateral exchange and cooperation with Bangladesh in the fields of politics, economy and culture. China will as usual provide everything within its capacity to contribute to Bangladesh social and economic development.
