Bangladesh Government Provides Relief Goods for China Earthquake Victims

    On May 28, 2008 Bangladesh Army Forces Division held a brief ceremony for a Bangladesh aircraft sending relief goods for China Sichuan earthquake victims in Dhaka Cantonment. Lieut. Gen. Masud Uddin Chowdhury, Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Division, Mr. Zheng Qingdian, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, army officers and diplomats from Chinese Embassy attended the ceremony.

    Lieut. Gen. Masud said China is Bangladesh's closest friend. Bangladesh government and people are committed to providing every kind of assistance within its capability to China.

    Ambassador Zheng spoke highly of Bangladeshi act, and expressed gratitude to Bangladesh government and its people for their selfless help.

    Carried by Bangladesh aircraft C-130, with 60 tents, medicine, medical equipment that weigh 9.5 ton, the relief goods were sent directly to Sichuan earthquake-affected area.
