On Jan 19th 2008, Chinese Ambassador H. E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian invited chief correspondents of Bangladesh mainstream newspapers to a tea gathering in the embassy.

Ambassador Zheng had an extensive exchange of views with the correspondents on Sino-Bangladesh relationship and bilateral press cooperation. He said China-Bangladesh friendship dates back to the ancient times, and the bilateral cooperation in various fields is increasingly strengthened. He expressed hope that the press exchange and cooperation between the two countries would be further enhanced to play a constructive role in the deepening of bilateral relations.

The guests lauded the remarkable achievements made by China and said that China is a dependable friend of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh press would like to make an active effort to promote the bilateral relationship.
