Chinese Ambassador Zheng Qingdian Invites Bangladesh Foreign Adviser to Dinner

On the evening of Jan 8th 2008, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh H. E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian invited Bangladesh Foreign Adviser H. E. Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed Chaudhury to dinner in Chinese Embassy, Dhaka.

The two recalled the development of the bilateral relation since it was established over 30 years ago. Ambassador Zheng said Sino-Bangladesh friendship dates back to the ancient times and the exchange and cooperation between the two countries in the fields of politics, economy, military and culture are steadily enhanced. China would like to promote the comprehensive cooperative partnership between the two countries with joint effort from Bangladesh side.

Adviser Ifekhar expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for the timely help to Bangladesh upon it was hit by the cyclone disaster. China is Bangladesh's reliable friend. The selfless help and support from Chinese government and its people will be treasured up by Bangladesh side. Iftekhar said China has made remarkable achievements in its economic development. Bangladesh would like to borrow China's governing experience to promote its overall social and economic progress.

The two also exchanged views concerning current regional and local situations.
