H. E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian Wishes Good Luck to Team Bangladesh for 2007 Special Olympics

    On September 21st , Bangladesh Special Olympics held a function at BKSP, Jirani, Savar, Dhaka to wish good luck to Team Bangladesh for 2007 Special Olympics to be held in Shanghai, China from October 2nd to 12th. Mr. Ashraf-ud-Dowla, chairman of Bangladesh Special Olympics presided over the function. All together over 200 people including the delegation members, representatives from organizations for children and women's rights attended the program with Honorable Adviser for Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Tapn Chowdhury being present as the chief guest, Chinese Ambassador, H. E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian, the special guest.

              

    Adviser remarked that a time-honored friendship exists between the two brethren countries. It is congratulatory that Team Bangladesh will join the game in a country with such a long history and splendid culture and to feel the life of modern China. He encouraged the team to give a full play to their skills and asked Team Bangladesh to convey the greetings from Bangladeshis to Chinese and all other players from all over the world.

            

    Ambassador Zheng expressed a warm welcome to the players for joining the game in China. He said that Shanghai Special Olympics plays a significant role in leading the country into the year of China Olympics. The success of this forthcoming game will provide inspirations for all the nations and peoples to join hands and extend more support and love to the development of the cause of Special Olympics and the mentally-retarded people. He hopes that Team Bangladesh will give a full play of its technique and enjoy this sports gala.

    Following the function, Ambassador Zheng and Adviser watched the training of Bangladesh Special Olympics cricket team and were taken a group photo with the delegation.

    Bangladesh delegation will be comprised of 49 players, 19 officials, family and staff members, the largest ever in Bangladesh history.
