On July 11, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh H.E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian visited Dhaka University, the supreme institution of higher learning in Bangladesh.

                      

     Ambassador Zheng Qingdian called on Prof. Dr. S M A Faiz, Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University. Prof. Faiz expressed a warm welcome for the arrival of Ambassador Zheng Qingdian, and briefed Ambassador the history and development of Dhaka University.

    Ambassador Zheng noted that education plays a key role in the realization of a nation's advancement and prosperity, and serves as the foundation for the civilization and progress of a country. Both China and Bangladesh enjoy a long history and a splendid culture, facing the common tasks of development of economy, social harmony and the construction of knowledge and innovation-oriented country.

    The two exchanged views of strengthening exchange and cooperation of higher education between China and Bangladesh.

    Accompanied by Prof. Dr. S M A Faiz, Ambassador Zheng visited Social-Science department, Modern Language Institute, Academic Research Center and newly-built Conference Center of Dhaka University.
