On 7 April, Ambassador Yao Wen attended the Food Distribution Ceremony for Ramadan to Dhaka North City Cooperation at Basantek community. Mayor of Dhaka North City Cooperation Md. Atiqul Islam and representatives of thousands of residents of the community attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Yao extended sincere greetings and best wishes for the Ramadan festival to Muslim friends. He emphasized that Ramadan is a sacred month for Muslims, a time for spiritual purification, and a time to show unity, solidarity, and mutual assistance. This aligns with the principles of benevolence and assistance advocated in Chinese traditional culture. Interactions between countries should also adhere to the principles of equality and mutual respect. As friendly neighbors to the residents of Dhaka North City, the Chinese Embassy has engaged in many practical and friendly collaborations with the Dhaka North City Cooperation. The Chinese Embassy specially prepared 1000 food packages containing essentials such as rice, beans, edible oil, as well as ingredients like wheat and sugar for making sweets for Eid-ul-Fitr. Ambassador Yao conveyed his wishes for Muslim friends to have a sweet and joyful festival.
