Ambassador Yao Wen attends the Seminar on Development and Governance Experience in China and Bangladesh

On 25 March 2024,Ambassador Yao Wen attended the first seminar on “Development and Governance Experience in China and Bangladesh” after the establishment of the Center for China Studies of Dhaka University and delivered a keynote speech. Prof. Dr. A. S. M. Maksud Kamal,Vice Chancellor of University of Dhaka,Vice Chairman of the Academic Board of the Center for China Studies, Mr. Chen Dongxiao, President of Shanghai Institutes for International Studies,Chairman of the Academic Board of the Center for China Studies,Mr. Stefan Liller,Country Representative to the United Nations Development Programme(UNDP),Dr. Susan Vize, Head of Office and Country Representative to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO),Dr. Shi Jiaoqun, Country Representative to Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Mr. Li Shaopeng,Cultural Counsellor of Chinese Embassy and others attended the seminar.

Ambassador Yao Wen mainly shared the commonalities and distinctive trajectories of development and governance in China and Bangladesh, as well as the prospects and expectations for exchanges and cooperation between think tanks and scholars from both countries. It is hoped that in the future, the Center could strengthen the research on Chinese Modernization, increase exchanges and dialogues between Chinese and Bangladeshi scholars, thereby offering practical suggestions for synergizing development strategies between Bangladesh and China,nurturing a conducive public discourse for the advancement of China-Bangladesh relations, fostering intellectual synergy and contributing to the robust development of China-Bangladesh relations in the new era.
